Anniversary: a tribute to Coco Chanel

Just a few days ago as I passed from Roquebrune, a step away from Menton, I got to see the break, the beautiful villa overlooking the sea and the Duke of Westminster in a fit of love (and generosity) gave in to Coco Chanel twenties. Years in which the name of the famous seamstress went from triumph to triumph, rejuvenated, and reshaping the female wardrobe once and for all (although it must never forget the vital contribution of Paul Poiret, who was the first to remove the infamous bust).

The use of jersey, then worn only by the English jockeys, the famous jewel buttons, the inspiration of Chanel offers us even now, after many years, the keystone of modern dress. Many may not know, but today its August 19 falls on the anniversary of the birth of the unforgettable Mademoiselle seemed so just give it a small but deserved tribute.
