Balmain entrusts the direction of the right arm crated Decarnin

Rousteing Oliver, the former right arm of Christophe Decarnin in Balmain, will be the new creative director of French fashion house. Oliver worked alongside Decarnin since 2005 and now he will be directly in charge of maintaining the high level achieved by Balmain with the former art director. The new collection will be the first designed by Bailmain Rousteing, apparently named after a young stranger who has worked for six years for Roberto Cavalli and Balmain since 2009.

The legacy that collects Rousteing is very demanding, the collection of Balmain in recent years have been able to create trends and differentiate itself from other fashion houses. Straps, sequins and a strong rock soul featured collections for Balmain Christophe Decarnin that have managed to revive the fashion house back to a former glory.

Will Rousteing to maintain the level? Pierre Balmain has created his own fashion house in 1945 and immediately became one of the favorite brands of celebrities of the time: Sophia Loren and Brigitte Bardot some of the names who wore Balmain Paris. In 1982 with the death of his assistant Pierre replaces Erik Mortensen until 1990 when the creative direction is headed by Oscar de la Renta.

Aute couture with Oscar was in 2002 but was replaced by Laurend Mercier, disastrous step for Balmain that had to close and declare bankruptcy. In 2005 a group of investors has risen Balmain Decarnin entrusting the creative direction, the result was a success, the trend dictated collections season after season and were found to be the most imitated by low cost brands.
