Neat Pleants. Fold clean. No hint of femininity. No recognition of the models that arching your back backwards, naked and wearing only a pair of bottom of the latest collection by American Apparel. In short, more boobs, less visible. The American brand has remade: once again upsets the audience and the general public has even more choices for image than for the actual appeal of their collections.
For spring summer 2011 has focused on anonymity because of its light manequinn to give 100% to his head. Unsuccessful, however, the trick of the breasts to the wind that brings to mind another dark moment in the campaign of brand communication. After running the contest quite sexist on the most beautiful B-side of the world and after the scandal of the letter of an employee furious at the lack of job opportunities granted by the company, American Apparel has recently returned to be talked about in this campaign rather alarming in which girls in the target with its customers give a display of malice and alluring poses with sexual allusions and definitely dirty, really ill-suited for an audience of young girls.
Who does not remember "that" girl who is left dangling from the tree, revealing not wearing panties or the one with bare breasts while giving the enamel or straddles? And then there was that she raises her skirt, another T-shirt that advertises a show by the little hair on his arms and his face make-up, and "gem of gems", the girl immortalized by the complete and pure white underwear is lying on a table flanked by two transparent white stripes (the reference is in bad taste to the world of cocaine even more encouraged by the advertising slogan "You can feel how good it looks," that is "You can feel how beautiful") , all while he is well groomed, very seriously, and composed, "with quite put his shirt in his pants" - was written .* Images taken for granted and alluring without any restraint, the female body as miseducating offensive against the former recipients of advertisement, or an audience of teenagers and children.
So, once again, American Apparel has decided to focus on transgression through a series of images that, with glossy, in my opinion take away the pleasure of writing knowledge of their creations for spring / summer. At that point, voluntarily, I decided not to propose it.
