New Sunglasses 2011 - Mafalda 86 vintage Made in Italy

During the White in Milan is in the Tortona area, I went to the event in front of a little shop of glasses and I was captured by the shape and design of Mafalda 86. Within, I try almost everything and I do tell the history and workings of the glasses. Mafalda86 Giulianova born in Abruzzo in the meeting of Vittorio Sebastiani, with Mark and Stephen, together we began to do research and produce our line.

In fact, all have worked in the eyewear sector, with brands, but we wanted our brand to have a hand made in Italy. Every pair of glasses comes from a research trip, we are generally inspired by the 50-60 year old looking style eccentric heiresses, or American gangsters. We only use Italian labor, and after drawing the model, we begin the search for the slab of celluloid, which, having been cut, is set for 72 hours in tanks of wood burrattatura (polishing) and then is hinged and finished polishing hand.

Look on our website are photos of the processing procedure. The plates are really vintage celluloid, arriving in the laboratory after an extensive search between London, Paris and New York.
