Ray-Ban Wayfarer always a classic trendy

Ray-Ban Wayfarerè the name of one of the models of sunglasses best-selling and most copied in history, with the symbol of sun glasses Aviator par excellence. For spring summer 2011 Ray-Ban Wayfarer repeats its historical pattern in new colors with plastic frames and colored crystals in various shades of colors (see photos of the new collection in the gallery at the end).

The model of sunglasses by Ray-Ban Wayfarer is born, as do the Aviator model, as a result of a need for pilots to protect themselves from the sun. The model of Ray-Ban Wayfarer has been presented for the first time in 1952, its innovative design represented a break with the traditional metal frames and was able to impose as one of the more popular spectacles of the 60s.

Although the model was designed for a male audience, became popular among Hollywood actresses, Marilyn Monroe was able to turn it into an object of worship and Audrey Hepburn, wearing them in a historical scene of the film Breakfast at Tiffany's, created an emblematic image of glasses Wayfarer still present in the collective imagination.

Bob Dylan, John Lennon, James Dean, Roy Orbison, John F. Kennedy and Andy Warhol were among the personalities who have contributed to the Ray-Ban Wayfarer model to convert to the model of the iconic pop culture. Over 70 years the historical model was hidden in obscurity until the 1982 Ray-Ban was able to resuscitate him through commercial agreements with film and television.
