February: predictions of the times will be good? A new decade, a new year. On the one hand, hope that, in any case, everything goes better. Second, discussions about prophecies about a disastrous 2012 closer among those who believe and those who deny with real skepticism. We, however, want to live with this humble common sense.
This certainly is a complicated and often contradictory: we try to interpret it, understand it and maybe even improve it. This issue of Style Trend tells stories in brilliant colors: alternating tragic situations with other more positive and we are hoping for a more just future. We are thrilled with the good governance in Liberia.
A nation run entirely by women, by the President to the Mayor of Monrovia, Mary Broh, we interviewed in our exclusive opening (a pag.112). Pictures and words speak to us of its most beautiful in the power of femininity: pragmatism, efficiency, care for the welfare of all. We are moved by the stories of those who have suffered.
For the first time men and women who have children have been victims of sexual abuse (and the perpetrators were priests) speak and bring us face. A unique absolute (on pg. 177) to recognize the courage and dignity of those who say "Enough!" The most frightening form of violence: the one against children.
We are dealing with the Slash Generation. That category of young people who are no longer (for profit, but for passion) only one job, but use the "bar" graphics (model / deejay / photographer) to disclose their professional status. We talk and discuss on page 149. We're excited by fans for Colin Firth.
We rely on him as our candidate Oscar (a pag.163), knowing full well that he, rather than a star from sight, like a nice bacteria: who is infected then it heals more (and no no intention to do so). We are proud of those who challenge the unjust agreements. We rely on Leena Alam as our candidate for the Nobel.
The actress has returned to Afghanistan in Kabul from the U.S. to show (risking their lives) as a face without a burqa (a pag.195) and is now ambassador to the UN peace: she too is a sign of the times (modern ). So, good future for all!
