Looking back at the amazing collection Pepe Jeans London dedicated to the biggest American pop artist. We are talking about Andy Warhol. Here, after the International Women's Day, comes the special edition for Father's Day. But who would have expected a t-shirt with silkscreen of Marilyn Monroe will be disappointed and we are glad not to mention a collection of obvious and unoriginal.
First, the mini-collection consists of only accessories: a perfect gift for Father's Day, original and fun. Andy Warholby Pepe Jeans collection for spring / summer 2011 seeks to explore the original meaning of the world of Warhol, his artistic technique and reproduce it in any animal. Screen printing directly onto various fabrics, opening a gash right on Warhol's Silver Factory, for example, could be an X-ray Nico on a cotton poplin shirt.
Or a Polaroid taken by Warhol before I did a serigraph, printed on a vintage jersey. Articles that show this work are camouflage jackets, with a portrait of Warhol printed directly onto the fabric, or his self-portraits made in the last years of his life, or a screen print made by Warhol, a snapshot of a crowd of people.
