Sweat Shop: The Cafes of Paris couture

In Paris, the Café are not just bars, they teach us a stylist and a makeup artist, respectively Sissi Holles and Marten Duss. Their idea is absolutely stunning and innovative, especially in this time of crisis that forces us to a lot of hardship. So they opened in downtown Paris, a cafe couture, with the aim of encouraging people to buy fewer clothes, discovering the pleasure to do it yourself, by recycling what you have at home.

The two designers have created, so, for a truly original to the French city. At the heart of the big room, that is, the store 10 stations dominate sixties-style, with Singer sewing machines, and a large communal table where you can find everything you need, such as balls and patterns, return to their creations.

At first glance it might seem a setback to the hip, but absolutely not, reuse, recycling and re-creation may be just a beginning of an awareness by the general public on sustainable fashion and respect towards the ' environment and ecology. To learn or improve the techniques of sewing and knitting, five workshops have been planned which are offered per week.

With only 6 € per hour, if you are already familiar with the world of sewing, you will also receive free coffee and tea. Periodically, French designers emerging and are invited to submit and share their world at present. At any time of day, people can come in and take a workstation, you can start sewing with a machine ready for use, freeing the imagination and extraction.
