PATENTS ON CLOTHES IN LONDON BEATS PARIS

There are about 1,750 patents filed in Milan from 1980 to present, on the fashion industry, over a quarter of the roughly 6,300 Italians and cover clothing, shoes and accessories such as hats, jewelry and umbrellas. It is no less Lombardy: fourth region in Europe for the absolute number of patents, with a weight of 6.5% of the total in Europe, but the first patents on the jewelry (11% of the total weight) and hats (almost 1 patent about 4 in Europe is made in Lombardy).
