Fendi, the Italian brand acquired by France's LVMH has finally marched Sunday in Seoul. We say finally because the parade was likely to jump because of protests by animal rights activists. Fendi fact has always linked its name and its collections to the skin and fur, as in 1925 and Mrs Edward and Adele Fendi opened on a Plebiscite in Rome on their first store bags.
To be honest, in a country like South Korea where more than 1,400 pigs were buried alive in an effort to contain outbreaks of FMD, where three dogs were cloned soso on "Order" and 2 million are killed each year to power the dog meat trade, it seems a bit odd that a fashion event might have somehow attracted the wrath of animal rights.
For Fendi, 50 Korean and Japanese models have marched on the artificial island on the river Huan for the collections fall winter 2011 2012. On this occasion the House has also announced the opening of 4 new stores monormarca in China, one in Beijing, one in Shenyang, one in Tianjin and one in Guangzhou.
